Street and Sport Motorcycles was originally Allparts Spares bike wreckers, as run by Harley Bob. Bob had the fortune to get the Triumph franchise, and moved into our current premises at 63 Manchester St. He was bought out by Chris Huddlestone and Glenn Hayward, and in September 2007 Phil Garrett, formerly Glenn's partner in the successful Flying Kiwi world land speed record bought Chris out.
Phil Garrett and Lars looks after RAT, marketing and new bike sales as well as being Taren's primary ball thrower and running the website. Sean Thompson joined the team in March as sales assistant. Glenn's partner Caron Bedwell is working on a short term contract setting up systems and helping develop the structure of the business.
The workshop is run by Glenn with A Grade mechanics Richard Holmes and Stefan Orlita fixing the bikes.
We're not the flashest bike shop in town - when you visit us you won't find marble floors, mirrors everywhere, chrome and evidence of an expensive fit-out. What you will find is a bunch of people who are passionate about bikes, and especially about Triumphs. You'll find people who will not only spend time chatting to you, but who are keen to have an excuse to yarn about bikes, and you'll find other customers who are happy to chew the fat. You'll find a good selection of bikes and scooters, accessories, hot coffee and a wide range of clothes and riding gear. We like to think we're an old fashioned bike shop, just like the ones we used to look for excuses to visit in our youth.
As well as selling new and used Triumph, Keeway and Gas Gas motorcycles, we have a fully equipped specialised motorcycle workshop. With 3 A Grade mechanics on staff, and can service all brands and models from scooters to sports bikes and our team have extensive experience on Harleys, Vespas, race bikes, Ducatis and most Japanese bikes as well as Triumphs and Keeways.
