The Rumble came, hundreds of mods and rockers dusted off their machinery and the rumble was a titanic struggle between the mighty rockers and the dodgy mods. Predictably the mods won the slow speed events and were well ahead when they were crushed in the tug of war, and with the rockers on the verge of a legendary come from behind victory, the mod women challenged the rocker women in a double or quits tug of war and won, sealing the victory and claiming the shield for the next 12 months. It was a battle of two halves and full credit to the mods, it was the joy of two wheeled machinery that was the winner on the day. I've put the photos I took up, and if you have any photos you'd like to share please let me know by emailing rat@streetandsport.co.nz Show me some of the photos please What do these cool T shirts everyone is talking about look like? |

Rode either classic 60s vintage scooter (Vespa, Lambretta etc) or modern retro-styled scooter. There are an abundance of sites with info on dress and scooters, and a good one I found is www.modrevival.net where they have info on clothing and fashion as well as pics and guff about scoots. And of course there is Quadrophenia, compulsory viewing for anyone. |

Rode a mix of 50s/60s vintage British (or possibly Euro) bikes, modern classics like the Triumph Bonneville or Thruxton, Honda GB500s, Kawasaki W650 or similar. There is caferacer mag and of course the Ace Cafe website, they both have plenty of info about Rockers, and of course there is Quadrophenia. |

The NZ Spinal Trust are a great organisation that do a hell of a lot of work with people who have suffered spinal injuries, and like it or not, that means they work with a lot of us bikers and scooterists. They don't get the support or funding they deserve or the profile of bigger organisations. They were chosen because the money we raises will make a real difference, and because they support bikers like us. |

Who are the supporters of this event?
